The Lithgow community knows all about power. Oil shale and coal were the foundations of Lithgow's contributions to the Australian economy, and power remains its biggest export. Each historic phase of energy production and manufacturing involved innovation and the latest technology.
The next phase in Lithgow's economic and community development can be equally innovative.
To support innovation and development, a group of local people have established the Lithgow Community Power Project. Residents, workers and others associated with Lithgow are encouraged to become members of the Project. Our initiatives are overseen by a Board of up to nine people from the Lithgow Region, elected by the members.
